Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Usagi Reader ("Usagi"), operated by Skua Interactive. By downloading or using Usagi, you agree to these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use Usagi.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Usagi only with permission from a parent or guardian.
License
We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable license to use Usagi on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and applicable app store rules.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of Usagi except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
Your content
You retain ownership of PDFs and other content you import into Usagi.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any PDFs you open in the app. Do not use Usagi to infringe copyright or other rights.
We do not host or upload your PDF files. Usagi reads documents stored on your device.
Subscriptions and billing
Usagi Pro is available as a monthly, yearly, or lifetime subscription through Apple App Store or Google Play in-app purchase.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your store account settings.
New subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial where offered. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription converts to a paid plan at the price shown in the store.
Prices may change with notice as permitted by the applicable store. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.
Free tier limits
The free version of Usagi includes:
- Up to 3 saved custom themes.
- Up to 50 highlights per book.
- Optional rewarded ads to save a streak (no weekly streak freeze).
- No GIF backdrops or cloud sync.
Usagi Pro
Usagi Pro unlocks unlimited saved custom themes, unlimited highlights per book, GIF backdrops, cloud sync for streaks, goals, bunny progress, and highlights, and a weekly streak freeze.
Cloud sync explicitly excludes PDF files, covers, and full library contents. Only eligible metadata and highlight excerpts or anchors sync.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where law allows.
- Use Usagi to distribute pirated or unlawfully obtained content.
- Interfere with or disrupt the app, servers, or networks.
- Scrape, harvest, or misuse data belonging to others.
Intellectual property
Usagi, including its design, bunny artwork, theme assets, and software, is owned by Skua Interactive and protected by intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the app.
You may stop using Usagi at any time and delete your account from the Profile screen to remove cloud data tied to your account.
Disclaimer
Usagi is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skua Interactive will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of Usagi.
Our total liability for any claim related to Usagi will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars if you paid nothing.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skua Interactive from claims arising out of your misuse of Usagi or violation of these Terms.
App store terms
If you download Usagi from Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply. Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms where required by their platform rules.
Apple and Google are not responsible for Usagi or its content.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Skua Interactive is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
