Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Skua Interactive ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use Usagi Reader ("Usagi"), our mobile application, and this website at https://profilefish.com/usagi.

Information we collect

PDFs and library data: PDFs you import, custom covers, reading position, and local highlights stay on your device unless you enable Usagi Pro cloud sync for eligible data types described below.

Account data: If you sign in, we collect your email address and authentication provider (email, Google, or Apple) through Firebase Auth.

Pro sync data: With Usagi Pro, streaks, daily goals, bunny unlock progress, and highlight excerpts or anchors may sync to Cloud Firestore. Full PDF files are never uploaded.

Purchase data: Subscription status is processed by RevenueCat and Apple or Google in-app purchase systems. We receive entitlement status, not full payment card details.

Advertising data: Free users who choose a rewarded ad to save a streak may interact with Google Mobile Ads. Ad networks may collect device advertising identifiers as described in their policies.

Diagnostics: We may collect crash logs, device model, and OS version to keep the app stable.

How we use information

We use information to provide and improve Usagi, authenticate accounts, sync Pro features, process subscriptions, deliver optional ads for streak saves, respond to support requests, and comply with law.

We do not sell your personal information.

Legal bases (EEA and UK)

Where applicable, we process personal data on these bases:

• Contract: to provide the app, account, and Pro sync you request.
• Legitimate interest: to secure, debug, and improve Usagi.
• Consent: for optional push notifications and rewarded ads where required by law.

Third-party services

Usagi relies on the following service providers:

• Firebase Auth and Cloud Firestore (Google) for sign-in and Pro sync.
• RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management.
• Apple App Store and Google Play for in-app purchases.
• Google Mobile Ads for optional rewarded streak-save ads on the free tier.

Cookies and analytics on this website

The Usagi marketing pages at /usagi do not set additional cookies or analytics beyond what the profilefish.com domain may already load for the broader site.

If you navigate to other Profile Fish pages, those pages may use analytics or consent tools as described in the main site privacy policy.

International transfers

Firebase and related Google services may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can delete your account from the Profile screen in the app, which removes Firebase authentication and associated cloud data.

Account & Data Deletion Requests

If you wish to permanently delete your Skua Interactive account and remove all associated premium data, please email us directly at hello@profilefish.com from the email address associated with your account. We will process your deletion request and purge your data from our active databases within 30 days.

California and US state privacy rights

We do not sell personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar state laws.

California residents may request access to or deletion of personal information we hold. Contact hello@profilefish.com.

Children's privacy

Usagi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised date at the top of this page. Continued use of Usagi after changes means you accept the updated policy.
